Ok, so it’s time for the second update of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain drawings. The next two assignments were “Complete the Vase/Face Illusion” and “Copy Picasso’s drawing of Igor Stravinsky upside down.”

With the vase/face drawing, I did about as well as I had expected… not really well but reasonable. I guess the whole point of the exercise was to get you to trace the other outline first while naming the parts to heighten your left-brain response, so I guess that’s bound to happen.

And the Stravinsky drawing… well, it came out reasonably well, I guess… except his right hand is grotesquely mis-shapen. Also, at the end of the drawing I turned both the drawing and the original right side up, and only then did I notice that I had forgotten to do the handkerchief and pocket. I thought it was interesting, because I just didn’t see them. I checked the drawing for completeness, and someone in my brain told me it was done when it wasn’t. Stupid brain…

That’s it for now. I’ll be back when I have some more to show.
